Our Team
TEAM INTEGAROOS is excited to work together during the 2018-19 school year. Our goal is to help your child learn to adapt to the middle school life at QMS, and become life long learners.
Andrea Shimko
This is Mrs. Shimko's sixth year at Quioccasin Middle School as a Math teacher. She loves teaching Math at this age level because she can relate to the students who struggle, because she did too! When she is not at school, she loves doing anything outdoors, playing tennis, and spend as much time with family and friends as possible. Her goal is to encourage and show students that they can achieve their goals within the Math classroom, even if they think they can't.
Alma Kenup
Originally hailing from California, Mrs. Kenup loves travelling the world; she has taught and lived in several other countries. When not teaching, Mrs. Kenup enjoys practicing Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, writing about education, reading in Spanish to her toddler son, and jumping --under supervision-- out of planes.
Amber Rhodes
This is Mrs. Rhodes first year at Quioccasin Middle School as a 6th grade Science Teacher. In the past three years she has taught 6th, 7th, and 8th grade science at Hungary Creek Middle School and in Richmond Public Schools. She loves teaching science because it allows for so many hands-on and FUN learning experiences. Her goal is to make the subject meaningful and useful to every single student. When she is not at school, she loves doing anything outdoors: hiking, kayaking, camping, etc! She is a Virginia Tech graduate, so she usually spends the fall season closely following college football and even making it to a few games when she can! Her husband coaches college baseball, so my weekends in the spring are spent at the baseball diamond!
Susan Amos
Ms. Amos enjoys teaching history. Her favorite time period is the American Revolution. In her spare time she loves to read nonfiction and watch historical documentaries.
