TRYOUTS(20-21)

Information​​
  • UPDATE 11/6: 
    • After careful consideration, HCPS has made a decision to cancel winter sports at the middle school level for this year. 
    • Eighth graders may try out for the JV teams in the following sports at their zoned high school:
      • girls’ basketball

         

      • football
      • girls' tennis
      • boys' soccer

         

      • boys’ basketball
      • sideline cheer
      • wrestling
      • gymnastics. 
    • The winter season for high school sports begins Monday, December 7. 
    • Please contact the Director of Student Activities at your zoned high school for information on tryouts and required paperwork. 
    • Spring sports will be assessed once we return in February.​
       
  • A physical must be turned in before the first day of tryouts and must be dated after May 1, 2019 and include insurance information.
  • The emergency card needs to be turned into the coach on the first day of tryouts.
  • Final team selections will be posted on the school website.

Parent Expectations
​

Parents are expected to pick up their child on time when practice is over.  Below are the consequences for all student athletes:

​

  • 1st time being late- warning

  • 2nd time being late – meeting with parent following practice before returning to the team

  • 3rd time being late – dismissal from the team

Eligibility Requirements
​

In order to tryout for a spring sport, the athlete must have passed all core classes for semester one.  Please view the following file for eligibility requirements for more information.  If you have any questions, please email the Academic Advisor, Mrs. Webb (fall), Ms. Shimko (winter), and Mrs. Ranneklev (spring)
